Out of this need, and in order to strengthen the relationship between the localization of humanitarian work and development, as well as acquiring a greater understanding of social protection issues and how social protection contributes to overcoming humanitarian crises, the Al-Nahda Thought Center at the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) held the first edition of the specialized training entitled: “Bridging Humanitarian-Development Nexus: An Introduction to Social Protection for Humanitarian Actors”, on Monday and Tuesday, 13-14 November 2023, within the framework of the Social Protection and Economic Development Program.

Islam, from Jerash Governorate, north of Amman, is one of the participants in the training of trainers activities within the project: “Empowering Each Other: United for Change”, a strategic partnership between the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) and UN Women Jordan

This affirmation was advocated by experts, specialists, and researchers in the field of protection security systems during the Regional Conference on Universal Social Security: “Towards an Agenda for Action in the Middle East and North Africa”. The conference is a dynamic platform held by the Inclusive Social Security Policy Forum (ISSPF) in Amman between the 19th and the 20th of September 2023, in partnership with the Development Pathways Foundation, and in cooperation with the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), the Center for Social Sciences Research and Action (CeSSRA) in Lebanon, and the Tunisian Observatory of Economy (TOE) in Tunisia. The conference was funded by the Ford Foundation.
