Access to Justice has been ARDD’s flagship program since it was first established in 2008. In addition to the provision of legal aid services throughout the country, including refugee camps, ARDD has engaged with national stakeholders in the justice sector to promote the core principles of justice: justiciability, accessibility, availability, quality, meaningful remedies, and accountability. Furthermore, since 2017, ARDD has been a founding member of the Justice Forum in Jordan, which serves as a platform to stimulate dialogue with experts, practitioners, and policymakers to promote legislative and institutional reforms to enable access to justice.
Building on past achievements, the Center’s Access to Justice Program follows a three-pronged approach to ensure the promotion of core principles of justice through its work:
- Continuous monitoring, documentation, and analysis of legislation and legislative initiatives, as well as access to justice-related process
- Evidence-based advocacy for improved policy-making
- Community engagement and coalition-building at national, regional, and international level
