The Arab Spring has taught us two major lessons. Stability cannot be achieved by overlooking the grievances of Arab peoples and the respect of their most fundamental rights. It has also shown the essential role played by local groups and activists in defusing violence locally, advocating for inclusive peace, and rebuilding their country.
In a view to contribute to the attainment of fair and durable solutions to the armed conflicts that plague Arab countries, the program sheds light on local capacities for peace and non-violent movements in the region, taking into account the role of arts and creative forms of expression to transform relationships, advocate for just peace and self-determination.
